| Managing Your Account
Before you being selling, you will need to properly configure your account. Login to your account and you will be taken to the Members Area of the site. This is where all of your information is held. You will notice a set of tabs accross the screen and each one of them serves specific functions.
Messaging - This is where you will manage messages from prospective buyers. By default it will take you to the messages you have received. To respond to a message, click on the buyer's username or on the envelope icon. You can type your message in the box on the next screen. Press the Add Message button and your message will be sent. Use the Abuse Report subtab to report nonpaying bidders or scammers trying to defraud you. Click on the Contact Customer Support tab for support issues.
Bidding - This is where you can manage the items you are watching or bidding on.
Selling - Click on this and a series of subtabs will open up. The Open subtab shows the auctions you have listed. Items with Bids/Offers will show all of your open auctions that have bids on them. If you have scheduled auctions to begin at a certain time, the Scheduled subtab will show those to you. The Closed subtab will show all of your auctions that have closed and will allow you to relist them. Drafts will show all saved auction templates you are using. The Sold subtab will show all of the auctions you have sold. Invoices Sent will show all of the invoices you have sent to buyers. The Fees Calculator section will show how much it will cost to sell an item on the site. Prefilled Fields will allow you to enter information that you will use over and over again when you list auctions. This includes HTML code you may wish to use. The Block Users area will allow you to block specific users from bidding on your auctions. If you think that we need to add a new category to the site, you can suggest that within the Suggest a Category section.
Reputation - This area will allow you to see feedback that other users have left for you as well as allowing you to leave comments for buyers.
Bulk - This area will give you access to one of the most powerful selling tools that we have available. It will allow you to download our bulk lising tool that enables you to list auctions in bulk from your desktop. This tool will not work on Macintosh computers.
My Profile - This tab will allow you to define the public profile that you want other user's to see. You can add information regarding your business and perhaps something about you personally.
My Store - This area will allow you to set up a BuySellGuns store. Please note that stores cost a monthly subscription fee in order for the store to remain active. You can choose which store you wish to use. There are powerful tools in this area to allow you to configure your store the way you wish it. It even allows you to define custom categories to use within your store.
Want Ads - This will show the open Want Ads that you have.
My Account - This is an especially important section and is divided into 6 tabbed sections.
- Personal Information - This is where you enter your contact information. This information is shown to buyers who wish to complete a sale. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU KEEP THIS UP TO DATE.
- Manage Account - Make Account Payments - If you have a balance on your account, you may make a payment in this area for your seller fees. Click on the 'Clear Account Balance' link and you will be able to select the payment method you wish to use. The choices are PayPal or Authorize.net. You can choose whichever method you wish and then are taken to that payment gateway. Either one will allow you to make a payment by credit card. PayPal allows you to pay by bank account if you do not have a credit card.
- Account History - This area will show your account payment history.
- Mail Preferences - This area allows you to select which email notifications you wish to receive.
- Abuse Report - This form allows you to submit an abuse report to Customer Support. This includes other user's trying to scam you or non paying bidders.
- Contact Customer Support - This form allows you to send email messages to Customer Support.
